A ruling has been made against a Pflugerville veterinarian and hospital owner. DR TOM SUTTON DVM. WILL BE DISCIPLINED BY THE TEXAS BOARD OF VETERINARY MEDICAL EXAMINERS
The next board meeting held in April will determine the type of reprimand given to the veterinarian. Board reprimands come in two severity types, formal or informal; usually accompanied by monetary fines and requirements to take additional continuing education classes.
A formal reprimand are published in the Board's newsletter; and for a veterinary licensee or a licensed veterinary technician, it will be reported to the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) for inclusion in the national reporting database.
An informal reprimand will not be published in the Board's newsletter and will not be reported to the AAVSB for inclusion in the national reporting database. A copy of an informal reprimand of a licensee could be forwarded to the AAVSB if specifically requested by that organization,
Dr. Jodi O'Hair; relief veterinarian, is also under investigation and is scheduled for the Board Committee hear in April as well.
The owner is currently pursuing legal actions against the hospital owner and now the veterinary technician after leaked photographs from an employee's Facebook postings show mistreatment of the pet shortly after surgery.
